Located towards the center of the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego in a landscape shaped by the different glacial periods and adorned by forests of Lengas, Guindos and Ñires, the Escondido and Fagnano Lakes await us to marvel at their unforgettable views!
This excursion begins with the tour of the accommodations to look for each of the participants and once we are all we will head northeast along National Route No. 3 to the border between the Carbajal Valley and the Tierra Mayor Valley, where we will make our first panoramic stop and where the guide, it will help us to understand how the landscape that surrounds us has been formed.
Continuing along Route 3 and already in the Tierra Mayor Valley we will head to our second stop on the itinerary, the Haruwen winter center. Here we will take the opportunity to use the bathrooms and visit the southernmost gin distillery in the world plus a small museum dedicated to the motorcycle travelers who have reached the end of the world in this means of transport. Inside Haruwen, there is also the Austral Park, where we will have the possibility of doing an optional activity such as an ATV ride or perhaps a horseback ride and to which we will return after visiting the lakes for lunch.
Once we have visited the winter resort, we will continue to the Garibaldi Pass Viewpoint, a place we will reach after climbing the Andes Mountains and which offers us a privileged view of Lake Escondido, and if the day is clear, we will be able to see in the distance, one of the largest lakes in Argentina, Lake Fagnano.
From the Garibaldi Pass we will begin to descend in a northerly direction towards Estancia La Carmen, on the shores of Lake Fagnano, a place that will give us access to the coast of this immense water mirror. During the stay, we will walk through the historic center and we will be able to see active beaver plants, and then return to the Haruwen winter center and have lunch!
