Located in the Fuegian Andes, Laguna Esmeralda (Emerald Lagoon) is one of the most iconic attractions for nature and hiking enthusiasts at the End of the World. This trek offers a unique experience, blending peatlands, beaver dams, forests, and mountains, culminating in the famous lagoon.
The excursion begins with the pick-ups from accommodations in Ushuaia and once all participants are gathered, we’ll head northeast on National Route 3 to the Tierra Mayor Valley, where the trailhead is located.
The round-trip hike takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, covering a total distance of about 9 kilometers. The trail is of moderate difficulty and is suitable for participants aged 12 to 60, provided they are physically fit to complete the trek.
Upon reaching the lagoon, and if weather conditions permit, we can enjoy the boxed lunch provided by the guide at the start of the excursion, while taking in the breathtaking views of this dreamlike destination.
