The trekking to the Emerald Lagoon It is an unforgettable experience that combines unspoiled nature, physical effort and unique landscapes. This lagoon, known for its unique emerald color and its glacial environment, is located just 20 kilometers from Ushuaia. The tour is ideal for those looking for adventure and connection with nature.

The trail, approximately 9 kilometers round trip, takes you through subantarctic forests, crystal clear rivers and peat bogs, offering direct contact with the natural beauty of Tierra del Fuego. During the hike, a bilingual guide will accompany you, providing you with information about the region’s ecosystem.

This tour is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, with a duration of 5 hours and a high level of difficulty. It is only suitable for people over 12 years old and under 65.

Itinerary

The tour begins at 10:00 am with the transfer from your hotel to the starting point of the trail, located 20 kilometers from Ushuaia.

Accompanied by a professional guide, you will start the tour bordering the Esmeralda River, a crystal clear watercourse that will accompany you much of the way. Along the way, you'll walk on peat bogs, cross sub-Antarctic forests, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Fuegian mountains.

After approximately 2 hours of walking in moderate ascent, you will arrive at the Esmeralda Lagoon. This glacier water mirror, surrounded by mountains and glaciers, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the included box lunch (sandwich, nougat and mineral water).

The return follows the same path as the outward journey, adding up to a total of about 4 hours of walking. Once the trek is finished, the transport will take you back to your accommodation in Ushuaia.
