Embark on a unique adventure exploring the majestic Ojo del Albino Glacier, one of Ushuaia’s most impressive natural gems. This high-difficulty trek will allow you to cross diverse landscapes, from peat bogs and Fuegian forests to the imposing Emerald Lagoon, culminating in the imposing glacier. The day begins with the transfer from your accommodation in Ushuaia to the Tierra Mayor Valley, the starting point of the trail. Over approximately 12 hours and 20 kilometers of travel, you will ascend 760 meters, crossing various ecosystems that offer panoramic views and a deep connection with nature. The route includes the crossing of peat bogs, characteristic of the region, and immersion in the Fuegian forest, home to native species. Leaving the forest, the landscape transforms into a high-altitude valley that leads to the Emerald Lagoon, known for its crystal clear waters and floating icebergs. From here, you ascend to the Ojo del Albino Glacier, where you can explore ice caves and enjoy unparalleled panoramic views.
Pick up at your hotel in Ushuaia and transfer east along Route N°3.
Beginning of the hike for two hours, crossing peat bogs and entering the Fuegian forest.
Arrival at the lagoon, moment of appreciation of it and walk along the right bank of the river to start the climb.
Final climb of 5km to the Ojo del Albino, after an hour we will advance through high mountain terrain.
After 7 km, we will arrive at a panoramic point where we will appreciate the Esmeralda Lagoon and the entire valley.
After a short technical climb, we will arrive at the imposing Ojo del Albino Glacier, and if conditions allow it, we will walk on the glacier.
Start of the descent following the same path to the starting point and transfer back to the accommodation.
