We will begin picking up passengers from hotels at 6:00 am. Then we will take the mythical Route 40 that borders Lake Argentino and begin our journey to the city of El Chaltén, 220 km from El Calafate. Once in El Chaltén, the transfer will be waiting for you so that you can follow the Fitz Roy Trail from El Chaltén, a 20-kilometer route that lasts approx. 9/10 hours of trekking, with 1200 meters of accumulated elevation gain.
The trail passes through different scenarios until it reaches the Laguna de los Tres. The first 4 km will be warm-up, with an incredible view of the Rio de las Vueltas Valley, crossing forests and streams, until you reach the Capri Lagoon. You will then continue along the same path to km8, where you will find the Poincenot Campsite and the Rio Blanco.
The most difficult kilometres start at Camping Poincenot. In this case we recommend paying attention to the schedule, since the descent to the city from the Laguna de los Tres will take approximately 4 hours. The return route is the same as the outward one, we suggest paying attention to the only detour point which is the Fitz Roy Viewpoint. This path should not be followed, since in the case of search or rescue, the recommended path is through the Capri Lagoon. At 7:00 p.m. we will meet again in the city, where we will start the day.
You will be picked up at your hotel in El Calafate at 6:00 AM. Then, you will continue on your journey to the town of El Chaltén.
