About this tour

Located towards the center of the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego and surrounded by a landscape shaped by the different glacial periods and forests of Lengas, Guindos and Ñires, theEscondido and Fagnano lakes await us to marvel at their unforgettable landscapes!

This excursion begins with the tour of the accommodations of Ushuaia to look for each of the participants and once we have them all, we will head northeast along National Route No. 3 until we reach the limit between the Carbajal Valley and the Tierra Mayor Valley, where we will make our first panoramic stop and where the guide will help us understand how the landscape that surrounds us.

Continuing along Route 3 and already in the Tierra Mayor Valley we will go to our second stop on the itinerary, the Haruwen winter center, where we will take the opportunity to use the bathrooms and visit the southernmost gin distillery in the world and a small museum.

The excursion will continue in the direction of the Garibaldi Pass Viewpoint, a place that we will reach after climbing the Andes Mountains and that offers us a privileged view of Lake Escondido, and if the day is clear, we will be able to see in the distance, one of the largest lakes in Argentina, Lake Fagnano.

From the viewpoint, we will begin to descend in the direction of Estancia La Carmen, on the shores of Lake Fagnano, a historical place that will give us access to its coast and where we will be able, with the help of our guide, to learn in depth about the work of the beavers of Tierra del Fuego.

In order to be able to carry out beaver sighting, it will be essential to be patient and silent since these animals instinctively escape and hide when they feel any sudden movement or noise that makes them uncomfortable.

After taking some time to visit the estancia and do the sightings, we will return to the city having known this unique place in the Argentine Patagonia.
