With an approximate duration of 9 hours, this tour is ideal for those looking for a true adventure in nature. From the Fuegian forests and dormant beaver farms to the ascent of a glacier, this experience is unique and designed for those who have previous experience in high-demand trekking.

The tour is suitable only for those over 18 years old and under 55, and requires mandatory equipment, including waterproof high-top shoes.

  • Trekking poles, helmet and crampons.
  • Personal insurance.

Itinerary

The day starts early with the transfer from your accommodation in Ushuaia to the beginning of the trail that leads to the Emerald Lagoon.

During the first part of the trek, you will walk the traditional path to the Emerald Lagoon. This stretch offers views of rivers and beaver forests in a tranquil setting and surrounded by sub-Antarctic forests.

From the Emerald Lagoon, the group will take a trail to the right bank, carefully walking between fallen trees and old dormant beaver trees. Here the physical challenge begins, with continuous slopes and mountainous terrain that will take hikers outside the vegetation limit, reaching approximately 650 meters above sea level.

At this stage, the terrain becomes rockier and more unstable. A professional guide equipped with ropes and carabiners will ensure the safety of the group in the most complex sections. This final ascent is a test of endurance, but the views from the natural terrace towards the Emerald Lagoon, Mount Olivia, and the 5 Brothers make the effort worthwhile.

The glacier appears as an immense sea of ice, with the majestic Rhino Towers as a backdrop. This is the highlight of the tour, where you enjoy a hot lunch to recharge your batteries while admiring the imposing glacier.

The descent follows the same route, paying special attention to safety and enjoying new perspectives of the landscape. Upon arrival at the starting point, the transport will be waiting to take you back to Ushuaia.
